Amy Bird

A registered nurse prescriber with acute nurse specialist experience and cosmetic surgery entering my 7th year in medical aesthetics I am as passionate as ever to advocate best & safe practice. Within my CQC clinic based in South Cheshire, I treat patients with a holistic approach to all aspects of aesthetic medicine. I also came highly commended in this years Safety in Beauty Awards.

As a proud, long-standing member of the BACN, I am very excited to embark on my new role as a North West lead and advocating to my fellow colleagues in the local area.

I entered medical aesthetics in 2014 within my cosmetic surgery ward manager position. Previously I had been in acute medicine as a nurse practitioner where I was pivotal in implementing change and standard improvements in acute cardiology. I have continued to develop professionally despite being in independent practice from a practical and theoretical point of view ensuring my practice, behaviours and attitude is no different than my perspective as an NHS or private hospital nurse. I feel this is my way of explaining the BACN way and where my passion lies within raising standards within our industry. I would like to use this as my USP and how I can help develop the BACN attitudes and practice in my area. This is how I envision our sector, it is a sector of medicine, we have patients and we behave as professional registered nurses at all times.

The BACN ultimately has been the central anchor to my professional development and I am extremely proud and fortunate to be a member.
